CHEAP TECH – Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

Published: October 22, 2021

Technology is expensive today, there is no getting around it. But there are alternatives, Cheap Technology. But is cheap technology even worth it? That is what we will find out.

Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

This post we will talk about Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones. No, these are not Beats or Bose Headphones, but they are almost $200 cheaper. We purchased this product at the store Five Below for, you guessed it, $5. For that price, I was not expecting much, but I was slightly surprised.

Upon opening the box I was a little disappointed to the fact that the headphones had been shipped scratched. I assumed that it was from the way they were shipped and there was not too much protective padding within the box other than a thin plastic clamshell. Other than the headphones, there was a charging cable within the packaging with USB-A on one side and mini USB on the other end. I would have preferred the charging port to be USB-C, but for $5, how can I really complain.

I plugged the cable into the USB port on my computer and waited. The instructions said that it takes 2 hours to fully charge the headphones. I found this to be a little disappointing as the instructions also state that the battery will only last 3-4 hours. The unit only has a 3.7 v, 200 mAh battery.

Once the battery was fully charged, it was time to connect the headphones. The Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones use Bluetooth 5.0 and connected instantly with my 24″ M1 iMac witch surprised me on how easy the connection was.

Now was the big test… How did they sound? Like I said earlier, these are not Beats Headphones and they do not sound even close to them, but for the price, they really weren’t that bad. I think that the Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones would be good for watching a TV or maybe some basic YouTube videos. If you want something for music or surround sound, I would save my money and buy a higher quality headphone.

The Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones also advertise that they have a microphone. So trying it out on my iMac using Photo Booth… It was HORRIBLE! To be honest, one of the worst microphones that I’ve heard. To be honest, two cups and a piece of string would have sounded better. But you have to remember that they are $5 headphones

So what is the verdict? For the price that I paid for the Polaroid Bluetooth Wireless Headphones I am not disappointed. They are actually better than I thought for the headphones. The microphone was garbage, but that is not why I bought them.

I would recommend them. If you purchase them without high expectations you too might be mildly surprised by the quality of this product.
